Noctilucent clouds

Het prachtige natuurfenomeen lichtende nachtwolken is mooi om te zien vanaf de grond. Maar vanuit een vliegtuig is het ook geweldig! De intensiteit van de blauwe lucht word extra benadrukt door de kleuren en de knoppen van de cockpit. Gefeliciteerd ArjanVeltman met deze Foto van de Dag!
Welcome to my flight deck
The sun has set, cruising level for our 11-hour flight to Tokyo is reached and the paperwork is done for now, when noctilucent clouds appeared high in the sky above us. Sunlight doesn't reach the earth's surface or even our flioght deck anymore, but at an altitude of 80-90km, ice crystals are still in full sunlight. Not visible during daylight, but when the sunlight fades away, these clouds form a beautiful sky visible to the naked eye
