Vandaag plaats ik een foto van Justia Heijkoop op Zoom. Justia overleed gisteren. Zij en haar tweelingzus Jessica stonden aan de wieg van mijn tweelingproject. Justia is gestorven na een maandenlange lijdensweg, veroorzaakt door een chemokuur die weliswaar het kankergezwel in haar lichaam doodde, maar ook Justia zelf. Deze foto maakte ik in januari, toen het nog leek alsof de behandeling van het gezwel een tamelijk kleine ingreep zou worden. Justia was een kleurrijke en creatieve vrouw. Ik leef zeer mee met haar familie en in het bijzonder met Jessica. Today I post a picture of Justia Heijkoop on Zoom. Justia died yesterday. She and her twin sister Jessica stood at the cradle of my twin project. Justia died after months of suffering, caused by a chemotherapy that killed the cancer in her body, but also Justia herself. I took this photo in January, when it seemed that the treatment of the tumor would be a fairly minor intervention. Justia was a colorful and creative woman. I sympathize very much with her family and especially with Jessica.
