The Pontsteiger 1

The Pontsteiger is a residential tower in Amsterdam. Designed by Arons and Gelauff Architects it was chosen as the winning design in 2007 and, despite the financial crisis, was built almost according to the design in 2015. The ferry tower building is part of the Houthavens area development, and is therefore located on the IJ where the ferry leaves for the NDSM site and the Distelweg. Construction of the 92-meter-high building was started in February 2015, the building was completed in 2018. The building is the highest residential building in Amsterdam.
