Major Lunar Standstill
Composite
The Major Lunar Standstill; Strawberry moon.
Blue hour shot of what we call "De blauwe bol."
Shot from a bunker of the Atlantik wall section north of Scheveningen.
Moon's true size (shot half an hour later as this 800mm is not very fast, so the remain under 1/40th even on a tripod is magic)
Background: The Major Lunar standstill is a phenomenon occurring only in about 18,5 years. It means that the moon rises at its closest point to the south and sets at it closest point to the north in that time period.
The crazy coincidence is that from that bunker (the germans knew things) it perfectly alligned and was completely behind the sphere.
I'll spare you the noisy details of that as ISO 51200 is ugly without enough light. Even AI cannot fix that)
Did you know that that sphere is a huge radar installation?
