This picture consists out of 12 different pictures, stitched together in Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended. When viewed in full size, you see lots of detail and you can almost count every single tulip.
The Berkermeermolen is a drainage mill built in 1608, which in 1803 was moved from its original location to the current location in Hensbroek/ Obdam. In 1877, an auxiliary pumping station was added, which was electrified in 1925. The mill was then stripped of his rods. The mill was unemployed until 1941. In that year the Berkermeermolen grind again, and since then the mill ran regularly. The hood of the mill is equipped with wooden rollers. The mill is, as most of the North-Holland polder mills, a binnenkruier. The Berkermeermolen features a Flemish trapping.
The Berkermeermolen is owned by the Hoogheemraadschap Hollands Noorderkwartier and cannot be visited.
