Gekozen door ons (22 december 2022)

Portret van Kapor, mijn eigen geadopteerde hond. Tekst plaats ik in het Engels: The story about him has a sad beginning but a happy ending (I'm hoping). He came to me when he was 1,5 yrs old, after a long journey from Hungary. As the story goes he was given to an elder lady at the age about 70-75 yrs, ran her down, broke her hip, ended in a shelter. So I decided to adopt him. When he came to me in November 2019 he was thin, scarred (physically and mentally) and insecure & scared. Getting to know him, I knew the story given to me didn't have any truth in it. He could aport a pidgeon but was mentally scared of benches, dark spaces, broom stick and so on. In the first 6 months I had him, he never wiggled his tail, or looked me in the eye. After my 5 weeks of vacation without him, he bit me in the face. But I never gave up on him, and fought together with him. He now is a really stud, a handsome boy with a family that loves him, but also gives him space and time when he needs it. I took this photo (All Nature Photography) because for me this is the picture that resembles him the most. The abandoned place we took the photo in, but also him looking hopefully towards the future. Not with anxiety but with confidence. So happy to have him. And my dear Kapor, I'll love you to the end and never will give up on you. De reden van de plaatsing van Kapor in de foto is dat hij achteruit kijkt naar het verleden maar toch omhuld wordt door het licht. Hij laat het dus achter zich, maar kijkt hoopvol naar het licht.
