Skin Deep

This frame, from my ongoing ‘Skin Deep’ series, is my own personal way of rebelling against the man-made boundaries and limitations that were put on me growing up as a male in a conservative environment that did not have a lot of give and safe-space for authentic self-expression. By channeling my own hidden emotions, desires and qualities by creating imagery where male identifying individuals are styled in a way that is associated with femininity, I’m learning to escape the deep set psychological prison I created for myself by breaking down the walls brick by brick. Or in this case, frame by frame.
