Contrast

The Crocodile river forms the full southern border of the Kruger National Park, the river is a tributary of the Komati river which flows across the border of Mozambique where it ends in the Indian Ocean. The wildlife in the southern part of Kruger Park relies on the Crocodile River but so do famers and luxury lodge owners as along much of the land on the southern side of the river is used as agriculture land or used by luxury lodges. The decrease or even sometimes stop in flow of the Crocodile river might be due to water abstractions for irrigated farming and tourism sector. This photo shows the contrast between the drought in Kruger on the north side of the Crocodile River and the well irrigated part south of the river.
